Cruze tops car safety

THE Holden Cruze is the safest small car under $25,000, receiving a five-star New Car Assessment Program crash-test rating, the NSW Road Traffic Authority says.

The Cruze, currently being imported but to be built at Elizabeth next year, scored 35.04 out of 37 - just ahead of Ford Focus and Fiesta, Mazda 2 and Hyundai i30 SLX. Holden spokeswoman Kate Lonsdale said the company was "pleased".
